Vista - updates for Office 2008 Mac

Bonjour,
I'm using a IMAC with OSX version10.4.11
I downloaded the standard english version of Office 2008 version 12.0.0.
The installation process performed normally, and the software is working the
right way.
The problem is: I've been advised of an update.
I downloaded it but that update did not recognize the software present in
the HD.
So, the installation process (of the update) stopped.
Any idea, how to solve this problem...

As you appear to be using a web interface, start here to find an appropriate
group:

http://www.microsoft.com/communities...s/default.aspx

Click the + beside your language. then scroll down to Office and Desktop
Applications. In Office and Desktop Applications, open the Macintosh Office
category. Find a group there to post
in.
