Vista - Update windows what a joke

Can anyone help
cannot update windows with error code 80080005. Tried everything nothing works. Microsoft does not recognize the code for solution. When I contacted them, they pass the buck, said if your computer came with windows already installed contact your provider. I did, they just want more money to reset my comp to factory setting which i can do without their help. Why should I keep throwing money at a problem that is Microsofts and not mine. It just should not have happened.

I tried method one which I didnt really understand?
Method two didnt work?
Method 3 im afraid to do. I know I would get lost after the third step and probably cause more error codes and problems. It just all seems so complicated and daunting, I really dont know enough about computers to take the gamble.

The only other thing is to restore to factory condition - shouldn't take long if you run the program provided - usually hit F10 or F11 at the end of the Bios screen ( black screen with white writing ) and before the Windows loading bars.

Check the manual for precise instructions for your particular machine.

If the problem returns, take the machine back and change it - it's brand new.

In the 4 months Ive had my NEW computer I have reset it to factory state TWICE?
Dell happily took money from me 2 times to do this.
Should I keep doing this, will a third time really make much of a difference.
Dell say its a software issue and that they want £59.00 to fix it. A THIRD TIME!!!
I told them to stuff it, their not so helpful when you get shirty with them.

I am thinking of re-setting it back to factory state but I feel like well "WHY SHOULD I"
