File Open and Write in JSCRIPT

I was told there was a way to provide a file access to use for survey
information. Unfortunately I have yet to grasp the concept of objects. Cant
see the wood through the trees I guess.

Open file, get values, get input from user, math values, save to file, done.

It sounds so simple, I am hoping my blindness is also simply wiped away.
