VS2008 Deployment of Framework 2.0

Hi,

I have written an win application (C# and VS2008) that targets framework 2.0 but the install process demands framework 3.5

I have checked all my projects including the setup, they all specify framework 2.0. If I remove 3.5 from the setup project prerequisites it still asks for 3.5.

If I have used controls that uses 3.5 I would rather not use those features but how can I tell what bit of the code/controls referenced 3.5. A search of "version=3.5" returns nothing.

I need to install on both WindowsXP and Vista.

Can anyone help? Someone using an old thread with the above title said he figured it out but I don't know who that was !!!

thanks
