Vista - Attachments-IE8, will not open microsoft mail

I updated to IE8 and now my windows mail will not send/receive attachments.
I uninstalled IE8, but I am still running on IE8. I have tried everything
and I need to correct this b/c I need to send attchments for work and school.

Please, any advice will hep!

This is a Net developers newsgroup. We use of course like you IE and like
developers do, mostly the newest.

However, as we have questions we do that mostly in newsgroup for Internet
explorer.

I cross post this message to a IE newsgroup, like I saw today has good
results.

The "known" problem, however, as far as has to be heard here in this

*OPENING* attachments (mainly JPGs). I have it on three machines.

So I assume that there might something else be going on with your

1.) As *sending* is your main concern:
Could you please explain what happens when you try to *send*
attachments. "will not send/receive attachments" means everything and
nothing.

What happens if you try to send an attachment?
Do you receive any error messages?
Which type of files are you trying to send?
How big are the files?

2.) As we are after the problem with *opening* attachments:
Which type(s) of files can not be opened?
What happens when you try to open an attachment?
Which messages appear?
Can you save the attachments in question and then open them?

Hi Cor,
there is a "known problem" with WinMail and IE8.
The problem is dealt with in "internet.explorer.general" and
"vista.mail".
There are no results on how to cure things, however.
