Vista - Signature Problem

I keep setting up my email signature to include a couple of small thumbnail
icons.

It works fine for a few days, but then stops working and instead of the
thumbnails, put a small white box with a red 'X' in the centre.

Any ideas?

This is the 5th time I've redone my signature, but its just gone again!

If you mentioned which email client you are using, somebody here might be
able to help. At least, we could refer you to an appropriate discussion
group for your question.

Right, and also mention where the picture is hosted, whether it is on a
web server or joined with the mail, and thus on what sort of server.
I imagine the code of the signature would give an idea about part of
these points.
