You're probably asking in the wrong place. This is a programmer's newsgroup,
designed to answer questions about .NET programming.
However, a couple of comments. First of all, yes, resetting to "Factory
defaults" will normally wipe everything. This is expected behaviour (most
programs will issue dire warnings to this effect when you try to do a
'factory reset'). It should be a 'last ditch' attempt once everything else
has failed (or after you've backed up everything on your system, and just
don't care any more). If you've done it, and things still aren't working,
then you likely have some bad hardware. My bet is on bad RAM.
