Vista - X P pro Start up/boot down Problems

Hello,
For 1 month I have had a niggling problem on this PC.I have X P Pro ,using
IE8 When using start up,I get the usual run of windows start up checks,all
perfectly o k.,but then I get a period of black screen which usually lasts
about 3 mins before the normal Xp logo appears, it then carries on as normal
This also happens at close down,after using the "CLOSE DOWN " button I then
get a black screen before actual shut off.I have run anti virus(brand new)I
have run SpyBot,and anti Malware programs with no effect.
Any advise please,

In the tree on the left, open English, then open Windows. In the Windows
subcategory, find
and open the subcategory for Windows XP, and find a group there for your
