WINDOW XP PRO

I purchased the original window XP professional CD few years back and I have
the product key which is provided along with it from Microsoft, I formatted
my system several times as I was having problems with virus and other system
related issues. Now when I use this CD it format the system and go through
all the steps till I reach the product key part another window opens asking
me to contact Microsoft for new product key, please let me know what I have
to do about this problem.
I have the original CD, Original Product key, purchase invoice and the
product bar code.
Thank you

You should ask the question in a group with Windows in the title, as this is
a group for programming questions. That said, the process is telling you to
contact Microsoft at a particular phone number. My experience is that they
are noting that the disk has been used before, and will simply give you a
code to reinstall on the same computer when you call. The process is fairly
painless....

What Mike said. follow the instructions provided.
In future, if you have questions about Windows, you can use this approach to
locate an appropriate discussion group for your question. Doing so will get
you more responses faster.

As you appear to be using a web interface, visit this page:

http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/

In the tree on the left, open English, then open Windows. In the
Windows subcategory, find and open the subcategory for Windows XP, and
find a group there for your post.

From experience the process is simple.

If you register three times in a short period then Microsoft questions
your legitimacy.
I would run the software until the 30 days are up to make sure you
have installed the software without any installation glitches.
Register once you are satisfied.

My problem was that I did a reinstall, and then the motherboard blew
and then I reinstalled again. I used up all my registration
allowances.
It can be registered online, but the easiest is to ring the number
provided on screen for you and then enter the numeric codes on your
phone when requested. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A PEN AND PAPER HANDY.
Microsoft will then give you a sequence of numbers and or letters in
rows.
Simply write these down, you get a chance to relisten to them once for
verification - do this to make sure you heard right.
Then simply enter toe registration codes you were given .

Simple.
