Re: Freelance designer/developer

This is not the place for solicitations and anyone serious enough about .NET
would know that.

It's not a gray area at all. The MS NG's are not for solicitations, which
is what job postings are.

If you are a serious developer, you understand MS newsgroups "101", which is
that they are not for solicitations. A newbie could be forgiven for not
knowing that, but an "MCP" should know better.

Re: Freelance designer/developer

From:
http://www.microsoft.com/library/gal...RulesofConduct

"Advertising/Solicitation: These communities were created as a forum for
providing peer-to-peer assistance on Microsoft products and services. We ask
that you refrain from posting advertisements or solicitations that do not
pertain directly to the intended use and purpose of the newsgroup or chat."

The intended use of these NG's is "providing peer-to-peer assistance on
Microsoft products and services" as stated above. How does your
solicitation acheive that goal? It doesn't. It acheives YOUR goal, which
is not what the NG's are about.

Re: Freelance designer/developer

hmmm this becomes a discussion to talk straight what is bended and vice
versa ,

The original post is a violation of that rule, however the answers do not
fall in the same catagory
okay my answer should have bether been http://www.rentacoder.com to avoid
discussions like this

I am serious about coding not only about .Net i code now for 23 years and
with my MCP`s there is not a agreement included that i should code and
provide all of my services for free
there are lots of people active in the group that provide there contact info
in there reply .

And IMHO there is nothing wrong with that as long as it is in response to a
question ,

By the way i have never received a project by web , as the fact that i am
euopean based mostly means that i am much to expensive for such projects
it ends always with a link to the above website and some provided info from
my side to the project owner how to setup the project .

So in the end a person visited the MS newsgroups and was helped free of
charge by a polite person who sended him in the right direction , in the end
MS has a lot more benefit of that in contrast to
beeing send away by a grumpy man , slapping them on the fingers that they
violate rule 13 sub a section 3b.

i hope you get my point ( wich you obviously do not share )

Michel

Re: Freelance designer/developer

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the reply's sorry if it offended a minority of posters, but I did
also ask the question if you knew of alternatives to post.

My question is genuine, and have a few responses, thank you. If this post
offends you then, do not waste your own time getting into pointless cross
posting.

Many thanks
