Re: Which Network Card?

By all means check to see if you have an inbuilt one before buying...

Re: Which Network Card?

The best G wireless card is the usr5417 by Us Robotics. Vistax64 has drivers built in, plus the driver that comes with the card works better by some reports. $49 at Tiger Direct, $29 after rebate.

If you are thinking of 300N the only way to go is the Airlink 300N, but you won't be able to use it until SP1 is installed.

Re: Which Network Card?

I haven't researched wired cards, I'm all wireless. Try Microsft's web site or Google it. That's how I find things. Your under $30 limitation may be a problem.

Sorry,

Paul

Re: Which Network Card?

Hey,
I've been looking on Computer Geeks and i'm inbetween a Netgear WG111v2 802.11g 54Mbps Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter (refurbished) and a Netgear RangeMax 802.11g Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter (refurbished). I have a linksys router unfortunately - which ones better?

Re: Which Network Card?

I'd stay with linksys but if you are in love with netgear stay with the 54mps. The jazzy cards only work with a matched router.

Linksys makes a G with USB hook up that I like a lot. Install the driver and plug it in to an USB slot and your'e good to go. Got its own little aerial on the end of a cord that improves reception if your PC is under your desk or otherwise hidden from the router.
