| Vi$ta-Punished | Identify DNS Issue Hi folks, what shall I say - I´m just anoyed from Vista´s DNS Management. It makes me go reboot or logoff/logon to re enter websites, once, DNS hang away. I know there are some threads about that. But there seems to be no issue solution at all. I red somewhere, it´s healthy to switch to another NIC that might run unter vista. This is, what i just did. hopefully the realtek 8169SC will bring a better connectivity to my daily work with my vista ult. 64bit. What I please you to do, just Post your type of NIC (vendor, model, driver version an vista version). Easy way, open a DOS-BOX enter "systeminfo" make a copy and paste of what is going to be listed. As this lists the installed hotfixes, as well. We have to find the lowest common denominator. Probably this might help find the root cause from all the DNS troubble. Maybe we are all running similar NICs :-/ That would be a help to people, that are new to this issue, to make a choice for a new nic. I will make an example with my own System: - XPC SP35P2 Pro onboard Marvell Yukon chipset @ driver: v10.55.3.3 - Windows Ultimate 64 bit SP1 - Issue occure directly connected to a cable modem (Arris TTM602), or NAT´ed behind a Cisco 831 - makes no difference.
