Autopatch TCP/IP connections makes my Vista unbootable

On a fresh install of vista ultimate x86 if i increase my half-open TCP connections ,then on restart my PC freezes on the first black bootscreen & then BSOD
Utorrent was killing my browser(firefox) so ive tried to patch the TCP connections again & again , same sad outcome - Unbootable PC.
Ive just built it
Abit AN52,Ath6400,2GB OCZ800,2xWD500GB AAK,Hitachi160GB DS,8600GT ,Pioneer212 ,650W PSU.
Today ive installed Vista Ultimate x64 & im having no problem browsing with Utorrent running but im not used to a 64 bit OS, if i have any problems id like to return to x32 & keep my torrent client
Has anyone any ideas please as to why something so small as to open more internet connections would kill my PC.
Thanks
Bazzuk

this is not needed with sp1. IIRC microsoft removed the limit for half open connections in SP1.

Re: Autopatch TCP/IP connections makes my Vista unbootable

And before SP1 ( in fact I already have SP1), what was the limit of half-open connections in Vista Home Premium x64 ? Somewhere I have read 2, elsewhere 5 or 10...
BTW if x64 is TCP patched, there is need to boot with F8 pressed to bypass driver sign checking....

Not sure about that:

Quote:
Since Windows XP SP2, Microsoft has placed a limit on the maximum concurrent half-open or incomplete outbound TCP/IP connection that Windows allowed to make at any one time (or per second). The security feature is inherited by Windows Vista in both 32-bit and 64-bit (x86 and x64) versions of the operating system, including Windows Vista SP1, severely restricts the networking capability and possibly download/upload speed especially using P2P client utility such as BitTorrent program such as BitComet, uTorrent and Azureus, or eDonkey network such as eMule.
64-bit (x64) Windows Vista SP1 (6001.1800) tcpip.sys Auto Patcher to Fix Event ID 4226 and Unlock Increase Maximum Connections Allowed Tip and Trick
