sending files from my computer to my laptop

is it possible to send files, photos, wmp music etc from my computer to my laptop using my linkeys internet network. and if so then how please.

Yes its quite possible I myself use two Linksys WRT54GL routers with ddwrt at home, Just make sure the network is "Private" under the Network and Sharing Center in control panel then goto Network from the start-menu.

well im having lots of problems with this. does it make a difference that my desktop is windows xp and my laptop is vista.

Now im not very good with computers to be honest but ive managed somehow to be able to send files from my xp comp to my vista comp, but i just cant do it the other way round.

actually i think i might be able to do it. when i try to access my vista comp from my xp comp it ask me for a username and password, have not got a clue what these are, any way i can find out.
