| Internet connection dropping out briefly... For the past 2 months I have been having trouble with my internet connection. I have windows vista ultimate. What happens is that I will be playing a game or something like that and my connection will drop for around 20 seconds. It then comes back like nothing happened, but this time out is enough to disconnect me from the internet games I play and it very annoying. My isp has sent 9 or 10 techs here and everything from the router to the pole has been replaced. So I do not believe that it is an isp issue anymore. This happens whether I am connected to my router wirelessly, directly, or even directly connected through the modem without using the router. I need help here. |

Also where are you In the US? and this wouldn't be War of warcrat you would be playing they been haveing a lot of Server burps because of this type of error as well most people are useing the Router Modems that are ADSL+2 Complients some have the saying why fix whats not Brke in this Case FIX it cause you're only gonna cause proplems with the central office each time you plug something in and out of you're phone jack there gonna see the more splitters Filters for phones you have on could be one of you're phones have gone bad a fax maxhine trpping out thease are variations you must all concider the more thing's you have put on that line is gonna decresse the Line Speed as well. Yeah some routers are bull**** for anything other than web browsing and absolute horrible for P2P or Games, check for a firmware update and it might help slightly but what type of router are you using? Some can be flashed with 3rd party firmware like Supported Devices - DD-WRT Wiki... Sometimes Vista could be dropping connections but the conditions when it decides todo this are not common these days, wrong LAN Driver/CPU over-utilization or firewall/security software. |
