IE 7 crashes ALL the time

and I don't get it. 'windows internet explorer has stopped working.'
and then sometimes when I start it---the links are all missing.
All I have is the basic IE7 with the Yahoo toolbar, latest version. The next time it happens, I will take a SS.

I may have to go to FF which is not my preference. How do you get FF be the default browser for yahoo mail, for example?

Hello eknirb,

This may not be your problem but it is worth a try.

Take a look at this Tutorial at the link below.
Look at Option Two.

DEP - Enable or Disable

Let us know what you find out!

it won't let me check or uncheck the box. it's unchecked now, and i can't do anything to it. Notice, it's shaded.

Re: IE 7 crashes ALL the time

Hello,

Try this!

NOTE: If you cannot get IE7 to open using step 2, then click on All Programs and Accessories. Next, right click on Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) and click Run as administrator instead.
WARNING: If you do not use Run as administrator, the Enable memory protection to help mitigate online attacks option will be grayed out in steps 5 and 6 below.

But what you probably need to do is this.

Internet Explorer - Reset

Hi Eknirb,

Yes, when you get to Step Three of the tutorial it will show you how to enable and disable single add-ons again to help determine which one is causing the problem.

Re: IE 7 crashes ALL the time

But since the crashes are so random, how do I know which to uncheck?
