Making 108Mbps work

I have a netgear WG311T 108Mbps wireless PCI network card, but I can't seem to get it to respond in the 108Mbps mode, even though I have a router kicking out 108Mbps. Is the 64x version of Vista capable of this transfer speed with wireless cards, and if so how do I make sure it will do it?

Hi Krypt and Welcome to VistaX64.com!

Have you downloaded the latest drivers and updated your device? Here:

Also what type of security are you using? This can affect the 108Mbit XRange.

Hi krypt0,
108 Mbps is a theorical value, you'll never get this value in practice.
Your card has to be compatible with the router, being from the same manufacturer is an insurance.
I have a MIMO install at home, but never i can reach more than 50 mbps.

Sid.

Unless its also a Netgear router, you wont get anywhere with SuperG style WiFi connections. The card and router must be from the same vendor.

It works fine for me with 802.11n Draft 2.0 connections at 270Mbps!

Cheers,

Bill
