Quicktime progress bar missing

Hi,
Glad to be here for my 1st post
My quicktime progress bar is always blacked out now. . What I mean when I say the progress bar is blacked out is that at the bottom of any quicktime streaming video the progress bar that usually shows play/pause, volume, and next and back is completely blacked out but it still works.I've looked from here and found only a not working solution when someone said that :
1. Right click on the browser icon
2. Select properties
3. Go to the compatibility tab
4. Check the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
5. Make sure it says "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" in the drop down list.
6. Press "OK" at the bottom

But you haven't access to this possibility ???
So other great help will be very useful.

I have just watched the trailer to Disney Pixar's 'Wall.E' from the trailers section of the Apple website without any problems. The progress bar was present throughout. However, I am using version 7.5 of QuickTime, which is the latest version. I suggest that you update to this version to see if that helps.

I've already have that version and the black bar persists. One week ago the quicktime bar works nicely.
