| Junior Member Rep Power: 3  |  Wireless Network Stutter I'm using Vista Ultimate 64bit with SP1. When playing games or listening to music of videos the sound stutters every minute or so for a few seconds. I've looked around and it seems to be quite a common problem and the only solution seems to be to create 2 batch files to run when windoes starts up to connect to the wireless network. Has anyone else had this problem and managed to solve it? It's annoying when taking the computer downstairs and I got to use wireless then it is difficult to watch a film or play any game! |

 Pre-Engineer  Rep Power: 24  | Re: Wireless Network Stutter Here's the answer to your problem: WLANOptimizer I have not been able to play a game online without it. The spikes are caused by Vista searching for other wireless networks if I remember correctly. All you have to do is extract the files into a folder and place it wherever you'd like (e.g. C:\Program Files\WLANOptimizer) The program will prevent Vista from spiking and your connection will be smooth again. |

 Member  Rep Power: 66 | Re: Wireless Network Stutter Before trying any bat file or software, disable MMCSS First in registry: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Audiosrv\DependOnService Just rename the key in case you want it back Then, disable MMCSS in services Reboot. |
