vista connections limitation

Can anyone tell me step by step how to remove the connection limit ms imposed on us so i can use utorrent properly? I know there are some sites that tell you how to do it but id rather hear from someone on these forums so i know im not messing my system up. I have vista ultimate x64 & have heard rumours of it not booting when ppl do this.

thanks

Re: vista connections limitation

Hi Fieseler,

This tutorial will show you how to change the Maximum Download Sessions in Vista. I'm not sure if utorrent is bound by this or not though.

Re: vista connections limitation

There is a good guide here. Download Vista tcpip.sys and UAC Auto Patcher to Increase TCP Connection Limit My Digital Life

Personally I haven't done the patch, I've heard mixed results, I can max out my connection just fine without the patch. Keep in mind you will need to press F8 on every boot to bypass driver signing. I have heard of people using a program called Ready Driver Plus. Again I personally haven't used this, so use your own judgement. You can find more infomation here: Permanently Turn Off and Disable 64-bit (x64) Windows Vista Forced Driver Signature Signing with ReadyDriver Plus Tip and Trick

If you are experiencing slow downloads it may be due to other reasons, Ultimate already has a higher half-open connection limit of 25.

Utorrent works perfectly fine without changing anything, Downloads for me without any patch at full speed.

You Do Not need this patch in Vista.
