IE7 disappears whilst browsing

I dont think this problem has been posted before. i used to have the same problem with IE7 on XP so i moved to firefox but now if i use firefox on Vista 64, (my current OS) any downloads i do go missing (this seems to be a common problem with no solution)

aside from that annoyance i now find that whilst i am browsing using IE7 it all of a sudden decides to disappear. i cant even bloody decribe it. imagine you have 3-4 tabs open in 1 window and whilst your checking something on a website IE7 just decides to close. when you open it you have to load everything again.

does anyone know how to get rid of this bug because its happening at least once a day! i only chose Vista 64 due to wanting directx 10 and more then 4gb recognition now im thinking twice, hass it been worth it?!

Have you tried System Restore or disabling some addons? As a last resort Try IE7Pro

Re: IE7 disappears whilst browsing

thanks dmex for replying. i havent got any add-ons yet. Dont like system restore, i have decided to re-install Vista 64 for the below reason:

I had a new build and the first thing i wanted to do was test out Crysis (obviously lol) i had it on high res completely maxed out and the game was running at 24-27 fps whilst playing which i thought was good enough. after getting Vista updates, installing other software, like Office 2007 and everest (not even a firewall or antivirus yet other then Windows own defender) defraging the drive, i decided to play crysis 2 days later but this time on high settings (instead of very high), what happens? the damn thing decides to struggle at 2-3 fps and cuts off. only works on medium settings now without high resolution. how did that happen?? got me lost, have the latest drivers and patches for crysis as well.

only thing i can think of is Vista messing up. unless theres other suggestions? definately not going to update Vista as have the updates till May i think anyway. so far i havent been impressed with Vista over XP, some problems i never used to have but now waste time resolving, definately not a happy bunny

Well, for the game issues, one thing it could be that Windows Update went and 'downgraded' your video card drivers....
