Vista - What is the eaisest way to network

what is the eaisest way to network an XP Home SP2 desktop with a Vista Home Basic using a wireless netgear wireless router that the xp is wired to and the vista is wireless and i don't really need to be able to access the files on the vista from the xp but i deffinatly want to access the xp from the vista? when i go to my whole network map in vista i can see the xp but i just can't click on it to access the files and from the xp when i go to search then search for people or computers i can see the vista but when i try to click on it it say that i don't have the right privilages or something like that i just want to be able to get access to my files on the xp and see them on my vista and be able to print from the vista to a printer that is connected to the xp

oh and i forgot to say that i have tried all the stuff i can think of but i still have no idea what is going on

Have you checked your firewall? File and print sharing option on?
