Vista - Why is selecting wrong regions illegal?

Hey All,

I was just wondering why when selecting a wireless region it says it is illegal to select an incorrect region? I dont see how this would be a problem, but I guess I'm here to find out why it is

It can be illigal because some country's have outlawed the use of selected channels on Wireless devices because they might interfere with other services, If you use these channels they will track you down and give you a huge fine for breaking the licence conditions.

What country are you locaed in and Ill check what channels your allowed to use...

Looking at the chart... Australia is allowed to use them all except channel 14 and I doubt the ACCC would be knocking your door down if you did use it
