Vista can't "see" any wireless networks

Hey all, registered here to get this problem solved.
As it states in the title, I can't connect to any wireless networks, as none show up in the "connect to a network" screen. But I know there are a few around as we have two other laptops in the house which can find a multitude of networks, including our own. The thing is, my desktop computer, was connected to this earlier, when a similar problem occured, but after shutting it down and having my sleep for the night, it worked fine the next day. Now it's back to the same problem. I've checked to see it he SSID is being broadcasted (it is) and I've also searched across the internet to find solutions to the problem, but most seem to only pertain to a laptop's wireless switch

so any suggestions would be great

Re: Vista can't "see" any wireless networks

I had a problem like this, mine was due to not having properly installed the drivers and utility DVD. I had forgotten to extract the file from there and place it on my computer. If you've done any upgrade, or clean installs than that may also be your issue. It would be helpful to post your laptop and system specs.

Re: Vista can't "see" any wireless networks

I did just recently format the computer. As far as I know though, the drivers are updated, and I want to make sure it's known that it DID work for a while, until I turned it on again this morning and it reverted to the same problem

I'll try and remember what specs my desktop has
2.4 ghz dual core processor
ati radeon 9200
1gb ram
some sort of realtek wireless card/adapter

it's getting on a bit now
