Vista Time Schronization

I recently went into Change Date & Time Internet time tab and chose a time standard to connect with. After doing that I went onto the internet and connected with time.nist.gov and checked the time. After that I was no longer able to go into the internet time tab. It tells me that time.nist.gov is the time connection and I can't change it. It tells me I need to have permission to do this as administrator. I am the administrator! What goes here? Can anyone help?

Hello RHMinetti, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Do you have UAC turned on? If not, then turn it on and see how it works after the restart.

Check the steps in this tutorial to see if by chance there is something you have missed.

Internet Time Synchronization

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Shawn,

Turning of Defender did not change anything.

Richard,

I'm not sure where you got Windows Defender from, but it should be to try UAC turned on.

User Account Control (UAC)

Also see the Internet Time Synchronization link to see if anything may help to.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Thanks for the tips. It works now.

Why does UAC need to be turned on? All the constant reminders are so annoying.

Re: Vista Time Schronization

Your welcome TheBronx, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Sometimes when UAC is turned off, it may not receive the permission elevation it needs to run properly.
