Vista - Major internet problems

I have done everything that i know how to but i need some help. i cant connect to my wireless network from my desktop. my moms laptop will though. i dont know why. i think it might be because i have a virus but i have avast do a full system scan every day.
plz help

I have a netgear router. i have had this computer since november of 07 and i have never had a problem. the only thing i can think is it is a virus. what info do u need man?

Is the wireless adapter installed correctly? Is the router blocking the mac addresses. Did you setup the wireless connection correctly for the security settings. What kind of wireless adapter do you have? Can vista see the network.

My router wa all set up and i was on the internet the time before last time i was on my computer. I had everything set up and there are no security settings. I had everything installed and everything is working fine. My mothers laptop has vista as well. I just dont understand.

I checked my Network Magic Application and there was an accesory on the program that was not allowing me to connect.
