| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Help with my wireless please :x I can no longer use my wireless Utility, I have an Advent laptop with built in wireless using "Ralink Wireless LAN Card" After installing the previous update for windows vista (10/09/2008) The icon for my Ralink card is now blacked out, if I hover my mouse over it I get the information "Ralink Wireless LAN Card" and underneath "Not Exist" thus I can no longer connect to wireless networks etc My laptop is fairly new only bought it a month ago Advent Windows Vista Home Premium 32Bit Pentium Dual core CPU 2GB Ram etc etc Any help would be appreciated and if you could email it to me @ inserity@live.co.uk I would be greatful, thanks (: |

| Vista Home Premium 64bit | Re: Help with my wireless please :x First and foremost try a system restore to prior to that windows update and see if it works, if it does than there is something in that update that is locking out or disabling your wireless NiC. From your description it seems like after the update the OS is not seeing the card installed, or its seeing it but not recognizing the drivers for it. So check your Ralink manufacturer website for driver updates, check often as with all these windows updates that happen there are bound to be conflicts now and then. Updating your drivers is the best way of keeping yourself from having any kind of issues. Give this a shot and let us know how it goes. |
