Hello,
I'm usually able to solve these types of issues with computers in about 10 minutes but this one has me stumped!
Basically, out of the blue, the computer has stopped internet access all together. Wireless and LAN do not work and come up as "unknown network." When doing ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew i get the following error:
Unable to connect to your DHCP server. Request timed out.
No operation can be performed on wireless network connections while it has its media connected.
When i type ipconfig, the Autoconfiguration IPv4 is 169.254.136.194 and we use a linksys router with the 192.168.xxx.xxx configuration.
I've tried to use a tcp/ip resetter, reinstalled cipset (contains network driver), safemode with networking doesnt work, new user account, checked ipv4 settings and they are good, dns is set to automatic, and installed service pack 1.
I'm so lost with what to do now that im thinking reformatting is probably the only way to fix this.
