partition no internet

I partitioned the vista 64 to have XP as another operating system to run some programs that can't run in 64. All went well except I can't connect to the internet in XP. When I boot to Vista 64, no problem but when I boot to XP, I have no connection. I have a wireless connection on my desktop. It goes to a linksys router and then to a DSL modem.

Re: partition no internet

Hi jonda,

Might be you don't have the XP drivers for your ethernet card.

Have a look in Device Manager when you are booted into XP and see if there are any alerts.

If so, you would need to check Dell website to see if they have XP drivers for the exact model you have.

Hope it helps

Re: partition no internet

I was able to install the ethernet drivers from the dell disk but it did say vista 64. It seemed to install OK. I will download the 64 drivers. Thanks

Re: partition no internet

I downloaded the xp drivers, but that didn't work either. The ethernet is fine, I just can't get into the internet with my wireless controller.
