| Vista Home Premium 32bit | wireless or wired i have wire modem but im thinking about wireless will it go faster?? well duh yes i have 768kbps well actually 860kbps ![]() my download is about 86kb somtimes 90 but 86 stable will it be raelly faster? |

| Windows 7 RC x64 Vista HP x86 | Re: wireless or wired It all depends on what wired connection you are comparing with what wireless ![]() the commonest Wired connections run at 100Mb/s whereas the commonest wireless networks 802.2g run at 54Mb/s wired connections range from 10Mb/s upto 1Gb/s whilst wireless runs from 11Mb/s to about 250Mb/s so there is some overlap in the ranges. However any internet connection is based on maximum allowed by the ISP which in your case would be 860kbps which is way below the network speeds of either wired or wireless, so would not be effected by the switch. Generally wired connections are faster that wireless but only really apply to local networks |
