Hi all,

I have an old cordless phone ( at least I guess it is ) it's a 2.4 ghz. I just noticed when I make a call I lose wireless internet connection.

has this happened 2 any1 else?

( i have made many calls and long ones at times but I just noticed it happened today and verizon said I have to get a 5.8 ghz phone.

Yes, one of my wireless (not cell) phones used to kill my 802.11 wireless network. Hang up the phone and it would come right back. The phone was stepping all over the signal. I ended up changing the channel the router used for wireless and that fixed it. I went from channel 5 to channel 11, which worked for me because there weren't any other 802.11 wireless networks around. Try changing channels and see what you get.

I called verizon again and they had me do just what you said. ( i did it B4 the even got on the line ) they also had me change something else to auto but i forgot .

How did you manage to change the channel the router used???
Did you just get a new router?

    I like Spore,Rabbits and I'm a Computer Freak.
I use an Airport Express which has the ability to change channels built into it. I believe most wireless routers will have this function buried somewhere in their setups. Even an old Linksys 802.11 B access point had this ability built in. Check out your routers set up screens or google for instruction for your particular router. It can probably do this. Good luck!
