| vista home basic 32bit | Help with explorer.exe Every time I try to shut down my computer I get an error message saying something like the application 0x______(different every time) referenced memory at 0x0000000 that could not be read. I have done disk clean up, it did not fix it. What would cause this and what can I do?? |

| windows vista ultimate | Re: Help with explorer.exe Hi, Can you do the following, open command prompt as administrator (Right Click and RunAs Administrator) then type sfc /scannow (It Would take around 20 mins to finish) Onces thats done Restart the computer. Check if you you still have the problem. If this doesnt work do the following goto to control panel , Administrative tools , event viewer , look under system for errors that matches the time when you shutdown the computer and you get the error msg , you will know the application that is causing this problem try re-installing or repairing the application, or just post the event error over here Hope this Helps Cheers !! |

| vista home basic 32bit | Re: Help with explorer.exe Well, I tried to shut down before doing the things you recommended and it did not happen. I went to the event viewer and it appeared that it was a dhcp client error... Do those randomly fix themselves without any actions by user? |
