New Vista Home Premium x64 Can't Stay Connected

I have a new Vista Home Premium x64 notebook from Asus. The notebook is no more than 25 feet from an unobstructed wireless router. The router is connected to a wireless phone (Phillips DECT 6 - Advertised as Interference Free 6.0 Ghz) which is nearby.

Every few minutes, from the 4th access to the web, to about 30 minutes, the connection becomes unresponsive. Using diagnosis returns that there is no problem with the connection. The only answer is to Disable/Enable the Wireless Network, and occasionally, restart the system.

We have 3 other notebooks, all Dell, two XP Home and one XP Pro that have no such problem.

Consulting the Asus Support site shows that all drivers and firmware are up-to-date.

The network almost never connects from a cold reboot, but will if a warm restart is performed.

Resuming from standby allows 4 web page accesses, followed by the behavior above.

What should I do next? Punt for Windows 7?
