Not Seeing Wireless Network

Hi All,

I'm a linux user 99.9% of the time but for netflix streaming until July I am stuck using MS...recently for not apparent reason I restarted my computer and randomly decided to check to see how many networks my wireless was seeing (I was connected to my own network), I was surprised when it saw NONE including the one I was connected to.

So I decided to reinstall the wireless driver just for kicks...there was no real reason as it was auto connecting to the three networks I use but I never like leaving things unsolved. After reinstalling the driver it told me it would delete the profiles which I already had set up, I said okay assuming I would see the networks and be able to reconnect to them after installing the driver. To my dismay, I still see no wireless networks and now it's not connecting to the wireless networks which I previously set up.

A couple notes:
1. If I scroll over the icon on the bottom right it actually says "Wireless networks in range" but when I go to "connect to wireless network" it's not finding any.

2. Linux sees networks no problem so it's not a hardware issue

3. For anyone who doesn't use Linux I just have to point out that there is NO CHANCE that Linux could have caused this problem. It's on a completely different partition, there is no sharing for the Operating System files of ANY KIND. Once in awhile in forums people tend to blame what they don't know, so I just had to be up front about that.

Any ideas? I can't stream netflix and I'm bummed....

Control panel and then turn on your iSCSI Initiator, if you have one. I was having the same problem. Then I found out my iSCSI Initiator was off. I turned it on and now I can watch movies..
It worked for me. or Check Device Manager and up date your drivers. That is all I can say.
Good Luck

Re: Not Seeing Wireless Network

No luck and I'm getting more and more frustrated...I can't wait until July when the moonlight is put out so I can ditch Microsoft once and for all (I've been a Linux user for years and have spread it on to many people who have been more than happy with the switch...). One thing I can say is that I'm glad MS agreed to let someone else make an open source alternative to silverlight...they obviously need the competition as they are falling behind... (has anyone ever looked in google for "wireless vista problems"...it's FORUM AFTER FORUM AFTER FORUM of pissed off people).
