Need Help Remoting into Xp from Vista

Hello, I could use some help remoting into Xp Media Center Home 32 bit from Windows Vista Ultimate 64x.
>Both computers are configured to allow remote access.
>both fire walls are configured to do the same.
>Both computers see each other on the network as currently the Xp machine is using the Vista machine's DVD Drive, and the Vista Machine is using the Xp Machine's printer
>Both are capable of seeing eachothers public folders.
both are operating on the Workgroup: WORKGROUP

Now when I enter on the vista machine Remote Desktop Connection Utility, I click to "browse for..." it opens up a search box with the "WORKGROUP" item, I click to expand prompting a dialogue box stating that this Workgroup does not contain and Terminal Servers. This is duplicated on the Xp Machine as well.
Last time I did this with two computers running Xp Pro so I am scratching my head at as what the missing link is. I belive I have missed a critical step somewhere. I look forward to learning from the community!

Thanks for the Help in Advance!

Hi Sigma616

The missing link is that you were using XP PRO the remote access is not available in the home versions of MS operating systems.

You can remote into a pro version from a home version but not the other way round.

Allows you to remote to the office from home but not from the office to home :(

Only thing I can suggest is something like UltraVNC

Ultra VNC : Remote Support Software, Remote Support tool, Remote Desktop Control, Remote Access Software, PC Remote Control

It's free but of course something else to add to the system

Yes It's always better to use the native software if you can - then again I've always got a copy of the UltraVNC installer in my toolbox for when I may need it for a customer machine :D
