Hi, I'm having a problem with my Windows Home Premium 32bit desktop.
When I get connected to peoplepc the icon on the lower right hand corner, the network icon, doesn't show that I'm connected, but I am. The whole computer thinks this as well.

The problem just started on Wednesday, June 3, and I was wondering if there is a way to stop this. I tryed restarted and I'll look around if there's anyone else having a problem like this. I would like love it if I could fix this ASAP. If there's any addtional info I need to add just ask!
Thanks!

I'm having the same problem. Dial up connection, everything works - data flows, but network icon shows I'm offline.

Problem started yesterday. I've got SP2 installed on Vista Home Premium 32-bit, installed SP2 just about 2 weeks ago and several updates few days ago. Most I suspect it's a mess caused by some update package.

I tried to restack TCP/IP, localservice does have administrator privileges, hiding/restarting/showing network icon. Four networking services mentioned in one tip are also up and running. Now the last thing I'll try is to reinstall eset smart security, but then, I'm out of ideas. Update: I noticed very same behaviour with dad's laptop, which started at about the same time. Now, I'm convinced this bug came with latest Windows Update.
