IP address change?

I thought my IP address changed on every boot, I have a router/modem and thought it kept changing.

Is there a way to change the IP address?
when I log into gmail it shows the last 5days of logging in--all the same IP address.

My computer's IP address changes if I reboot my wired cable modem.

+1

I think your IP is Dynamic but it will only change when you reset or reboot your router and/or cable modem.

Re: IP address change?

usually providers will issue you a time slot for your IP address. It wont change everytime you turn it off and on it goes by its time slot. To change it you could run ipconfig /release and then ipconfig /renew from the command prompt. some versions of vista are known to have some issues with that command though give it a whirl and see what happens

Good call pacinitaly... if you're not worried about "getting caught" for anything, you should be good.
