| Vista Home Premium x64 | Weird Wireless Problem Hello, I've been experiencing frequent slow downs in my wireless connection starting from about a week ago. It all started with when I tried to forward a port for uTorrent, although I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. I'm pretty sure the computer is not the cause of the problem because it works fine at other wireless hotspots, just not mine... The problem is: When I first turn the computer, usually about 10 in the morning, the speeds are horrible. Even most forums won't even load. In task manager, the network usage is shown to be 0.0% the most of the time, and never goes above 5%. Downloads won't start. Around 2-3 in the afternoon, the speeds are a bit faster, about 30-50% the normal speed. Website at least load up now... Network usage is still lower than normal as shown in task manager. Downloads work now, but at dial up speeds... and they are frequently stuck. Starting from about 7 o clock in the evening, the connection resumes more or less normal speeds, however downloads are still slower than normal. The connection strength is a full 5 bars for the whole day though. The next time I turn on the computer, doesn't matter what time of day, it resumes the slow website-not-loading phase again. It's extremely annoying and I can't get anything done. I got rid of the port I set up for uTorrent (again, not sure if that has anything to do with it), reset my router a few times, and changed the channel for the wireless around. What perplexes me is how the issue happened out of nowhere and why it seems to go away eventually when I use the connection... The router is a Netgear MR814 w/ 802.11b Thanks for your replies! I'll be really grateful if somebody can solve this problem because I can't get anything done for half the day right now. |

| Vista Home Premium SP2 32bit / Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit | Re: Weird Wireless Problem Have you made sure you are clear of spyware and such by running scans with whatever programs you use for that, I believe P2P software is very good at giving you problems like spyware and virus's. |
