DLNA with Bravia TV

Can anyone help?
I have a new sony bravia TV with DLNA compatability. I have it connected to my broadband router via a LAN cable. On the network on the TV the network connection has been confirmed and an IP address automatically assigned. All good so far!

On my laptop, running Vista home basic I can't see the TV on the network. I can ping it, and I can see it if I goto into the router firmware, but nothing on the laptop.

I've set all the permissions and sharing, and even set the IP address of the TV as authorised in the firewall software, but still nothing.
The TV needs something as a DLNA server and the TV is saying no servers detected.

Within Windows media player I have set all media sharing up and it can now see an unknown device, which I have set to 'Allow', the TV now sees my laptop, but still says no server found. Must be an authorisation issue somewhere.

Very frustrating, as the TV is great but would be really good to stream media from the laptop.
