Laptop will not connect

Hi, I have just bought a second hand laptop.
Problem is when I try to connect it to my home network via the on board wifi it keeps on saying that the security key does not match the security key for this network. After I don't know how many attempts at re-entering the key it will connect.
But when I turn the laptop of and start it up again it tells me that the key does not match again.
I have set it to save the config, but it either doesn't or there is something else wrong.
The laptop is an Acer 5050
Windows Vista home Premium.

Could it be a driver problem ?

My other laptop connects first time everytime.

Thanks for any help.
Brian.

Nope not a driver, can you try connecting with the encryption turned off so that you dont need to know the username and pword?

Could you also give us some info about your network setup?

Ken

OK after putting ticks in all sorts of boxes one at a time and tacking them out again I have sorted it.
The Netgear access point is set not to transmit ssid.
On the Acer laptop I found a box that says "Connect even if ssid is not transmitted"
so put a tick in it.
Shut down laptop restart and it connects everytime.

Thank you this is now solved.
Brian.
