Wireless laptop connected but not able to use internet

Hello everyone!

My husband's HP Pavilion dv6000 has not been able to completely connect to the internet for months.
We have tried it wireless and also directly through cable.
We have tried it at different locations as well. We have restarted the routers we have used.
He did use it in Kuwait once and after that it did not work anymore.
We have had several people looking at it, but no one could really help us.
Now at home we have been trying to connect it wireless and the Network and Sharing Center says the following:

Access: Local only
Connection: Wireless Network Connection (linksys)
Signal Strength: Very good

Good signal, but no internet connection! What is wrong?

He did accidentally delete the HP recovery (god knows why), but I don't know if it has anything to do with that.
We both don't know too much about computers, so this is my last resort, before we will just try it by deleting and reinstalling everything.

Also I have copied this:

the IP you are showing 169.254.x.x is local to the card in the computer. I suspect you dont have a working driver. can you type device manager in search adn go to the network tab. Look in the networl tab and find the wifi and wired apapters. They should not have a yellow triangle on them. If they do or if they are missing you need to re-install the driver.

If you tell us the model of the adapter we can help you find a driver for you. We need to know if it is 32bit or 64bit system

Thanks
