I have tried to share a folder, and in the dialog where I can choose which users to share to, I select myself and click "Add", but Vista responds "Unable to locate user". Now, the user was in the list and is correctly spelled, so something strange is going on here.
The network is private, and the only thing connected is a WDTV Live (media player), via a router.
In Network and Sharing Center, network discovery is on, file sharing is on, public folder sharing is on, printer sharing is on, password protected sharing is off, and media sharing is on.
