Unidentified Network

Hi,
I Just installed Vista x86 on an old machine and am unable to connect to the internet or connect to my home network.
I have the latest drivers for the ethernet Adaptor.
I tried to uncheck ipv6 with no success.
Loaded protocols to both ipv4 and ipv6
Turned on all network options except password protection.
IPV4 and IPV6 are set to obtain IP Address,DNS etc automatically.
I havent looked for bonjour but would it come with a fresh install?

When i do IPconfig/all (i'll try to copy and post it on this machine later)
It shows no default gateway, dhcp off.
IP starts with 169.xx so i take it that the router isnt providing an IP address.

Any help would be appreciated

*Edit-Firewall is off

Hey there monitar,

Your router may need to be reset. You should be able to hold down a little button to reset it. This way, it will hopefully reset whatever setting is stopping it

Let us know,
Ben
