Must reset wireless router everytime I start up my computer

Hey guys,

I'm having a frustrating problem with my wireless right now. Every time I start up my laptop, I have to reset the router in order to connect to the internet. Otherwise I get "Limited Connectivity"

I have a DLink DIR-615 router and my network adapter is an Intel Wireless WiFi Link 5100. I'm using WPA and my network adapter settings are default.

I'm staying at my parents house right now and I never had any problems using my router at my apartment which is also using wpa.

Google provided no real answers although it seems like I'm not the only one having this problem.

Please help!
Thanks

Just a shot in the dark but try turning IPv6 off in your network config on the computer, reboot and see what happens.

Some network equipment has trouble negotiating the IPv6 protocol just because it is still fairly new to the US.

If that does not help, shout back. A couple of questions though if it does not work:

1) Can you access the router interface at http://192.168.1.1 ?

2) If so, can you see any computers on the "Status" screen ?

I am trying to help with little to go on so if this is not pointing you in the right direction, I apologies.

No way to tell if this is your situation, but my friend had the same problem. Maybe, it did not occur every time the computer was started, but at least every morning. Her problem was that the wifi was not secured, someone else would use her signal at night in such a way that it would result in her lost signal.
