Wireless Adapter Not Detected

wireless adapter not detected; wireless light in front of compter stays yellow all the time. it went from night to day stopped working. HP Pavillion tx 1000 laptop. currently using external usb adapter to connect to internet. could it be i'm not configuring right? Best Buy geeks worked on it; they said I needed to replace card; i ordered another one from HP; replaced it and nothing still......

Here's my fix: >Control Panel, >Device Manager, >Network Adapaters, Expand then right click on adapter and Select Properties, >Advanced Tab, >Speed and duplex settings. I tried some different settings and the fastest that worked was 'Autonegotiate for 10FD' (10 Mbs Full Duplex). None of the 100Mbs options worked at all.

Don`t know if this will help ,but try it.
