Hi,
real quick. I can't turn on/off the firewall on my vista laptop.
I have tried everything. also, every service on then tweaked down.
I think this is why I'm unable to share the vista machine with my new win7 machine.

I love MY vista so much better than win 7 ( i said this about XP when i got my vista machine too )

ok, vista reads/writes to my xp pro and win7 and itself via users folders fully.
now, my win7 only sees itself.
sometimes it sees the vista rig but when clicked error shows up unaccessable.

I just use the vista laptop to do transfers but maybe someone can advise on something I'm missing.

thanks,

Carmine

ps
I used to have a network of:
win98se, win2000, xphome,xp pro, vista and they all did read/write access. now that I'm getting older, I'm forgeting everything.

Hi Carmine,

I am very bad at networks, but since no one else has answered, I will have a go at answering. Make sure both of your computers are networked on the same Workgroup. I think this is already the case. As for setting them up correctly, have a look at one of my old threads. I did not do an amazing job of this thread, but it highlights the main points. Other than that, I do not know what to suggest: http://www.vistax64.com/network-sha...rive-wireless-network-group-policy-issue.html

Sorry,

Richard
