Double check the documentation or maybe do a search online for hooking up your model of router. But im pretty sure you wont need it on either.

You should be able to run the cd by going to: Start menu, Computer, and you should see the cd (probably D drive).

My laptop does not autoplay the cd roms, and i looked on net and tried some suggestions how to get the d drive to show in computer, but i got stuck when i lowerfiles and upperfiles did not show. also do i put the cd roms into my laptop that i want to connect to the net

Thedarkside said, in the first reply to your post, that you probably will not need to. Google your router and see what online sources say about setting it up, or tell us what router you have.

Okay, did you Google it?

...put the CD in, click your pearl button and go to 'run'. type d: and then press OK. If 'd:' doesn't work, try 'e:' - I had a computer that didn't have a d drive before.

If you still can't find the CD on your computer, maybe it's time to download the driver from Belkin's website instead? Belkin : Support : F5D7051 Driver

Okay. From your phone line, you have the phone line hooked to ur modem right? If yes, then you have an ethernet from the modem to ur computer right? If yes, then i want you to take off the ethernet cable from the computer and plug it into ur router's WAN/Internet port (the on separate from the other 4). Then i want u to get another ethernet cable and plug it into (one of the 4 sockets that are together), then from that, you plug it into your computer where your Modem's ethernet cable was previously connected. Then i want you to type in 192.168.1.1 into ur webbrowser, and configure the SSID (name of the router), and a password for your router. After that you are ready to connect your laptop to your router. Okay, from your laptop, you should have wireless capabilities, i want u to connect your laptop to ur router wirelessly (the router that you want to connect to sohuld be the router that you have set up the SSID with), (right click that little computer sign and click connect to a network), and see if that works. Also remember to plug ur router into AC jack (powersupply).

cable modem?
the screw connections look like this?
rfcoaxpushon.JPG

if it does, you have bought a router im assuming?
does your laptop have a wireless connection and finally, is it a wireless router?
these are essential questions that need to be asked to find out the best way to connect to the internet, you will not need a cd for it to work :)
