About a week ago, i ran my new ethernet wire (Startech Snagless Cat 5E Patch Cable, Blue, 75ft.) under my floor to the computer downstairs which has my D-LINK EBR 2310 router which allows several computers to connect to the internet. The internet was working fine until i ran my wire through the floors. When i turned my computer back on the screen's resolution was all messed up, the icons were way bigger. I decided to system restore after multiple attempts to fix the resolution. The Screen is fine now, but the internet still doesn't work. I checked if the wire was damaged, but it seems to be in good condition. Then i decided to directly connect my enternet wire directly to the modem. The "PC/Activity" light starts flashing, but after like 5 seconds it goes completely off. Then 5 seconds later it flashes again. Is there something wrong with my computer? I turned my Antivirus off (NOD32) and my internet firewall off but nothing works. Please help?
