Wireless not working

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook.

My wireless is a touch "switch" on the front of my computer. I touch it and it says it is on but the light does not change from Red to Blue. It stays Red even though it reads
"WLAN: On" but it does not connect. When I diagnose the problem it tells me to Turn on my wireless capability.

The internet problem is with my notebook because all my other wireless devices work.
The wireless on my notebook will not work at home or at work.

I am not a very savy computer guy. What can I do to fix this?
Thanks!

First lets do this.
Open Device Manager and see if there are any red x's or yellow flags next to your network adapter. Next, open a command prompt, Windows Key + R, type cmd and then type the following without the quotes and paste all the results back here, "ipconfig /all". Also check, open IE, click Tools, Internet Options, Connection Tab and then the LAN Tab and in the window that opens make sure that all the check boxes are clear, if not clear them and close IE and re-open IE.

Thanks for your reply!! Big Thanks! Wireless still isnt working, having to use ethernet at home with no internet with my laptop at work.
There is a Red X next to my network adapter, it says I need to turn the wireless on. Same problem as before, I turn it on, says "on" but red light doesnt change to blue. IE LAN tab does not have any boxes checked.

Here is the results of the Command you asked me to do:

We need to see the IP4 addressing info from the "ipconfig /all", the iP address, the subnet mask, DHCP address, DNS address and the gateway address.
