need help with bluetooth!

It is most likely a service that is disabled rather than a device driver. Go to Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Services / and scroll to any entries concerning bluetooth and make sure they are both set on Automatic and Started - if not, do so (and if they have dependencies that aren't automatic and started, do the same with them). There may be more than one so check the whole list. When done, if you made any changes, see if bluetooth is now working.

I hope this helps. If not, I need the manufacturer, make, and model of your computer. If the bluetooth device was purchased separately, I need the manufacturer, make and model of that as well.

thx lorien you've been a great help but i took it to someone and they told me that it wasn't gonna work right because it really messed up after the bluetooth and it wouldn't save settings and the screen would flash and do all kinds of crazy stuff.. well the guy told me to replace the bios battery and see if that fixed it so i ordered one and we're gonna see what it does but if not then i don't know.. it's an hp pavilion dv2840se. what do you think about that.. do you think changing that battery will work?

I honestly don't know, but I tend to doubt this is all caused by a defective CMOS battery. I'd check out the articles I provided and see if there's anything there that might help - they've helped many others with similar problems.

I'm beginning to suspect a hardware problem (and I don't mean this battery) - but let's take it one step at a time. Try those procedures and checking things using those articles, change the CMOS battery, and if that doesn't work post back and we'll look for something else to try. When you next reply, I need the manufacturer, make and model of the bluetooth device as well.

OK, let's start over as I'm missing something here. Exactly what bluetooth device is this? What does it do? What is the manufacturer, make, and model of the bluetooth device? Do you have a replacement for this device that is "normal" and doesn't use bluetooth technology you can use instead in the meantime (and verify that it works properly)?
